Current browser demo: create two related lead voices, try scales and rhythmic variations, listen to both leads, and export your ideas as MIDI.
Cybergrass PsyLead Lab helps you develop two lead melodies as a musical question and answer. Try them in your browser, listen, and export MIDI into your own production.
A glimpse into my production workflow and working with PsyLead Lab.
The Cybergrass Lab Series is made for psytrance producers who want to develop musical ideas deliberately and shape them with their own sounds.
Current browser demo: create two related lead voices, try scales and rhythmic variations, listen to both leads, and export your ideas as MIDI.
Planned: a specialised tool for psytrance basslines and rhythmic bass patterns. Features are still being developed.
Planned: a tool for atmospheric pads and harmonic soundscapes. More details will follow as the direction takes shape.
A plugin version for compatible DAWs is planned. Target one-time price: US$10 — no subscription.
PsyLead Lab gives you a musical starting point: generate new variations, check how the two voices work together and decide for yourself what fits your track. You can then keep working with the MIDI data in your usual production environment.
Work with two separate lead tracks. Explore the musical question and answer individually, then listen to them together.
Choose a root note and scale, change musical parameters and generate new variations. You can also try more unusual scales such as Phrygian Dominant.
Listen to your results directly in the browser demo and export them as MIDI. You then shape the final sound with your own synthesizers, presets and effects.
Choose a root note and scale to fit your musical idea.
Generate, listen to, and compare new melody variations.
Export the right idea as MIDI and develop it further with your own sounds.
The current version runs as a web app, so you do not need to install a plugin. Create and listen to melodic ideas in your browser, then transfer them via MIDI to a compatible DAW or another MIDI-capable setup.
You can open the demo without an account. Melody generation takes place in the browser application.
Export your melodic ideas as MIDI and use them with your own instruments and sounds.
A VST3 version for compatible DAWs is planned, but it is not yet available as a finished product for purchase.
